The Delta variant is able to infect individuals who have been vaccinated. Fortunately, that means for those who are vaccinated that they will have almost always very mild disease and are not at any serious risk. However it does mean that the virus can continue to transmit even in populations where a high proportion of people have been vaccinated. And that means that over time anyone unvaccinated may meet the virus. It may take months, it might even take some years, but everyone unvaccinated remains at risk. It's absolutely critical that everyone receives their COVID-19 vaccine to be protected.
