No, it is better to be vaccinated at the appropriate time than to risk infection with a potentially deadly virus.

Newly adapted COVID-19 vaccines have potential benefit in offering broader protection against new variants of the virus. However, vaccines based on the original “index” virus are still highly effective against severe disease in the current context (as of fall 2023).

WHO recommends using any of the WHO Emergency Use Listed COVID-19 vaccines or authorized mRNA bivalent variant-containing vaccines for booster vaccination.
