COVID-19 is still with us.
Vaccination against the disease lowers the risk of serious illness or death from any known variant of the virus.
The benefit of vaccination weakens over time, especially for people who are older or immunocompromised, but can be rebuilt by a booster shot.
For all vulnerable people, every reduction of risk can be life saving.
WHO recommends a timely booster dose, especially for those who can benefit most: anyone who is aged 60 or older, who is pregnant, immunocompromised or has underlying health conditions, and health workers.
